Project Manager Role – EUDR Implementation
Project Context: Our partner company, a leading company in the Paper and Pulp industry, is executing a project to comply with the newly adopted EUDR, which comes into effect in December 2024. The regulation targets deforestation and forest degradation linked to certain products, including agricultural crops, wood products, and solid biofuels. The project’s scope impacts several areas within their organisation, such as Wood Supply, Procurement, Commercial, and Operations.
Role Summary: As Project Manager, you will lead the EUDR implementation by coordinating the development and integration of both new and updated processes and solutions across the business. Your work will involve significant collaboration with internal teams and external partners, ensuring alignment across business units like Procurement, Operations, and Wood Supply, as well as managing stakeholders such as suppliers and IT staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of EUDR solutions, focusing on both short-term regulatory compliance and long-term alignment within the organisations target architecture.
- Manage project resources and oversee changes to existing processes and systems in line with EUDR requirements.
- Identify, develop, and implement new processes in collaboration with business units.
- Coordinate efforts with internal teams, external service managers, and suppliers, ensuring integration with other strategic initiatives at Billerud.
- Engage with stakeholders, including senior management and steering committees, and provide regular updates on project status.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in managing and leading both business and IT development projects, with a focus on process and solution implementation.
- Expertise in working with various stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and technical and business staff.
- Ability to manage stakeholder expectations, conduct steering committee meetings, and handle project deviations effectively.
- A strong understanding of supply chain processes, as well as experience with custom-built and ERP systems, including their integration challenges.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, preferably with a focus on regulatory compliance and sustainability initiatives.
Additional Experience:
- Experience in leading regulatory and sustainability-driven projects.
- Background in the manufacturing industry, with an understanding of traceability processes and concepts related to supply chain and operations.
Personal Qualities:
- Independent, yet highly collaborative team player.
- Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain a high-level perspective.
- Technical understanding of IT systems, with a pragmatic and solutions-driven approach.
Location: Flexibility with remote work, but availability for monthly workshops and meetings in Stockholm (Solna) or at one of our mills is required.
Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Project Manager to lead the implementation of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). This role is required full-time from October 2024 to February 2025, with the possibility of extension.
