Release Train Engineer – STÄNGD (Stängd)

The engineering department is searching for a Release Train Engineer (RTE). The RTE is responsible for coordination and facilitation of a multi-site development program in a scaled agile environment. The Release Train is involved in developing radiotherapy solutions for cancer care. The position is based at the head office in Stockholm. Your closest team consists of scrum masters, product owners, release project managers, business owners and other key roles in the program. As Release Train Engineer in a development program based on the Scaled Agile Framework your responsibilities include:

  • Organize, schedule, perform and facilitate events related to Scaled Agile, as PI planning, Inspect and Adapt workshops, Product Owner sync, System Demos and Scrum of Scrums
    • Resolve escalations during PI planning and PI execution
    • Work with other stakeholders to remove barriers and get decisions where cross program issues.
    • Escalate train level risks and issues needing management attention and work with the teams to find mitigations
    • Facilitate dependencies between teams within or across various Release Trains
    • Facilitate backlog refinement sessions and support setting and communication of program priorities to teams
  • Technical Project Manager and coordinate several team’s effort in specific joint epics to meet a program objective and deliverable in time
  • Support coordination of outsourced development and supply chain
  • Support program release management.
  • Collaborate with product management, product owners and other stakeholders to provide guidance and support on backlog preparation
  • Mentor and coach to Agile Release Train (ARTs) on Agile/Lean/SAFe Principles, including support of teams in creation of epics/features/stories with good definition of done
  • Gather and report metrics on program execution
  • Train new team members in SAFe® implementation

Your background

We believe you have a MSc or BSc in Engineering or equivalent. Preferably, you have at least five years of experience from a Project Managing, Product Owner, Scrum Master role or similar with a track record of making agility work, also in complex multi-team setups.

Great merit if you have worked

  • as RTE
  • as Project Manager of outsourced development
  • as technical Project Manager of systems that contains mechanics, electronics and software
  • with product development including hardware (as opposed to for instance administrative IT systems) within medtech
  • according to SAFe® or similar scaled agile framework

You have extraordinarily good English, and preferably at least a basic knowledge of Swedish.

Your profile

As a person you are confident, curious, brave and driven with excellent coordination skills together with technical and system understanding. You need to have a genuine interest for technology and how to apply technology to products. You are thorough and have an outgoing personality. You are comfortable with working close to other stakeholders and collaboration with others.
