Full stack Developer for Energy Efficiency & Weight team 

What’s in it for you?
We are looking for a passionate senior full stack developer that is skilled in C# & .NET framework as well as a great interest in front end development (React, preferably in TypeScript). You will join the Energy Efficiency & Weight Digital team within Engineering at Volvo Cars. This team delivers digital solutions that support Volvo in leading automotive sustainability innovations, as well as ensure that all our cars are following all market regulations and legislation. We use modern tools and agile methods to create business value continuously. We ensure high quality and adaptability in our delivery. Of course, we have fun together while doing it.

The Energy Efficiency and Weight team plays a crucial role in managing the vehicle’s energy consumption and weight, which are essential for the business. All applications in the team are built in a modern cloud solution using Microsoft Azure. Some applications are currently under development, and some are already in a production environment, being used by our stakeholders every day. The teams work in an agile fashion and support both development and operations (DevOps). Energy efficiency is key for Volvo Cars to become a climate neutral company by 2040, and we work closely with the Sustainability team to support them in reaching the company targets.

In this position, you will focus on weight management. This area supports the car product development to continuously offer our customers desirable products with light weight.

What you’ll do
You will work in a small, cross-functional, empowered team. It is expected that you contribute to all stages in the development process, from creating requirements to putting code in production. This means you need to be able to work with solutions independently and in a team. You will build brand new, modern digital solutions and you will work with existing solutions.
You will be responsible for safeguarding top-notch code quality; we expect that you will participate and contribute to DevOps practices and continuous improvements and to be part of the Developer Community of practice.

You and your skills 
You are an experienced developer, who has worked with micro service architecture. It is important that you are passionate about what you do, have a high interest in keeping up with current best practices & know and care about sound engineering practices like continuous delivery and emphasis on automated testing to support production ready code every day.

• You are passionate about crafting clean code & are experienced working with modern infrastructure and tools.
• You are comfortable mentoring and leading your peers and passionate about problem solving issues & are experienced working with agile software development methods like scrum.
• You are experienced and comfortable collaborating directly with end-users when developing new functions and features.
• You place a strong emphasis on high code quality and comprehensive test coverage.
• You have experience with .NET, C#, React, Azure cloud services and Git.
• You have advanced experience in cloud services and experience in setting up CI/CD pipelines.
