User Experience as a discipline is a key part of Volvo Cars’ strategy and its UX organisation is helping to gather insights about our users and redefine and elevate the users experience of Volvo’s products and services.

What you will do:

As a Senior UX Designer within the Web Design System team, you’ll help grow, expand and improve the Web Design System, developing a deep understanding of our users’ needs and pain-points. You’ll use those insights to imagine creative solutions that balances the needs of our customers and product teams in an elegant way, through developing our Figma libraries and documentation.

You will advocate for the design system internally and integrate feedback and changes into the design system as appropriate.

You will work closely with user-researchers, fellow designers, developers, and other experts to test critical assumptions, gathering valuable data and create delightful experiences for existing and becoming customers.

As a UX designer you will also be an internal thought-leader on user experience best practices and trends.

Who you are:

– You’ve been designing for 6+ years for a consumer-focused tech company, so you understand what it takes to create elegant, consumer-oriented experiences.
– You have a high-level understanding of web development and the specific constraints of designing for the web.
– You have prior experience working on design systems for a medium-to-large organisation.
– You’re an analytical systems thinker, crafting creative solutions for complex design problems at scale.
– You have a solid understanding of accessibility best practices.
– You are a versatile designer who uses a full range of skills — product design, interaction design, and visual design — to ensure you deliver magical experiences to the customer.
– You’re a strong communicator. Who can inspire teams towards action and empathy for the user.
– You are a strong collaborator, who can work with not only design patterns, but many other stakeholders from marketing to engineering.
