UX Designer Practitioner

The Car UX Controls Team at Volvo Cars is seeking an experienced **UX Designer** to support the team designing intuitive and visually appealing user experiences for automotive interfaces. You will play a key role in the full development journey, from ideation to detailed interaction design and usability testing. 

Please note that the position is time limited, covering for a paternity leave. 

What you will do: 

– Work with cross-functional teams to understand user needs and convert them into design concepts. 
– Develop wireframes, prototypes, and user interface designs for automotive infotainment systems, dashboards, and other in-car interfaces. 
– Carry out user research and usability testing to collect feedback and refine designs. 
– Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in automotive UX design. 
– Participate in a design team and collaborate closely with other UX and visual designers, working from a backlog. 

Who are you? 

– Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Media, Arts, or equivalent. 
– 2-4 years of proven experience in UX/UI Design. 
– Ability to consider the entire customer journey and various touch points. 
– Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, After Effects, and Protopie. 
– Experience with design systems and maintaining design consistency across multiple platforms. 
– Understanding of the in-car user context is an advantage. 
– Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a group. 
– Receptive to feedback and able to follow directions. 
– Valid driver’s license. 
– Excellent English skills.
